Shopify Integration

Zevin’s Shopify integration syncs your product catalogue, inventory, and pricing with the AI shopping layer — so when a customer asks ChatGPT or Google Gemini what to buy, your products surface in the answer.

What gets synced

• Products — title, description, variants, images, tags, metafields
• Inventory — real-time stock levels per variant and location
• Pricing — including sale prices, compare-at prices, and currency
• Collections — used to build category context for AI recommendations
• Fulfilment — estimated delivery windows passed through to agents

Prerequisites

• A Shopify store on any plan (including Basic)
• Admin API access (read permissions on Products, Inventory, and Orders)
• A Zevin account — join the waitlist during early access

Installation

1. Install the Zevin app

Open the Shopify App Store and search for Zevin, or navigate directly from your Zevin dashboard. Click Install and grant the requested permissions.

The app only requests read-only scopes — it never writes to your store.

2. Connect your Zevin workspace

After installing, you’ll be redirected to your Zevin dashboard. Select the workspace you want to link this store to, then click Connect.

Zevin immediately begins an initial sync of your catalogue. Depending on catalogue size, this takes between 30 seconds and 5 minutes.

3. Configure your feed

In the Feed settings tab you can:

• Exclude products — tag products with zevin-exclude in Shopify to suppress them
• Boost products — tag with zevin-boost to increase recommendation priority
• Sync frequency — choose between real-time webhooks (recommended) and hourly polling

4. Verify your UCP endpoint

Once connected, Zevin exposes a Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) endpoint for your store:

Paste this URL into the Test endpoint tool in your dashboard to confirm AI agents can query your catalogue.

Real-time updates

Zevin registers Shopify webhooks for:

This ensures AI agents never recommend an out-of-stock product or show a stale price.

Analytics

After connecting, the Analytics dashboard shows:

• Which AI platforms are querying your catalogue
• Which products appear most in AI-generated recommendations
• Conversion rate for AI-referred sessions vs. organic

Troubleshooting

Sync is stuck at 0% — Check that the Zevin app has the read_products and read_inventory_levels scopes in Shopify Admin → Apps → Zevin → App permissions.

Products not appearing in ChatGPT — AI agents index on a rolling schedule. Allow up to 24 hours after first sync before expecting coverage.

Prices showing incorrectly — Zevin respects your store’s default currency. If you use multi-currency, check the Currency settings in your Zevin workspace.
